For students who have received Baptism, Reconciliation and Eucharist and have successfully completed Con 1 and are Juniors (or above) in High School.
Program Overview
Second year Confirmation teens (commonly known as "Con 2") who have received the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, First Eucharist; have successfully completed Confirmation One and who are 16 years or older and at least a junior in high school continue their journey to confirmation by using Ascension Press' "Chosen" for their materials.
Similar to Con 1, sessions typically begin in October and end in May. Teens continue to experience stewardship by completing Service Projects in their second year of Confirmation Preparation. They must participate in a weekend retreat experience where they have grown since their first retreat.
Program Requirements
Teens attend a total of 26 sessions throughout the catechetical year.
To successfully complete the year teens may have no more than 5 absences.
Any more than 5 absences and the teen will be dropped from the program.
All students are required to attend a Protecting God’s Children® course conducted during regular class time. Parents sign a Code of Conduct.
Teens will be evaluated prior to receiving the sacrament.
A transfer letter and birth, baptism, and first communion certificates are required if the child completed the first year of Confirmation preparation (Con 1) at another parish.
This is to ensure your child is enrolled in the proper classes.
Upon celebrating your child's sacrament, the certificates must be printed and officially recorded as to how your child's name is printed on his or her Baptismal Certificate.
Required Parent Meetings
All parents should be attending Mass on a weekly basis. Parents are required to attend:
1. Con 2 Orientation Meeting (with Sponsor & Teen) 2. One Adult Faith Formation—Dates vary -you select from list provided at time of registration.
