For students who have received Baptism, Reconciliation and Eucharist and have successfully completed Con 1 and are Juniors (or above) in High School.
Program Overview
Teens who have received the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, First Eucharist; have successfully completed Confirmation One and who are 16 years or older and at least a junior in high school continue their journey to confirmation by focusing on:
Baptismal identity, Gifts of the Holy Spirit and exploring the symbols of confirmation
Understanding their relationship with Christ through baptism and connection to their church community
Morality through a Catholic Christian view
Session typically begin in October and end in May. Teens experience stewardship by doing
5 service hours in the parish and
5 service hours in their community. They must participate in at least
one fellowship event in addition to their weekend
retreat experience. Due dates for these events will be announced.
Our catechists are a dynamic and committed group of volunteers serving over 1,900 children and teens.
Program Requirements
Teens attend a total of 26 sessions throughout the catechetical year. To successfully complete the year teens may have no more that 3 absences. Absences may be “made up” or excused when parents make contact with the catechist to complete the make up work. However, any more than 5 absences and the teen will be dropped from the program. All students are required to attend a Protecting God’s Children® course conducted during regular class time. Parents sign a Code of Conduct.
Birth, baptism and First Communion certificates and/or transfer letters may be required.
Required Parent Meetings
All parents should be attending Mass on a weekly basis. Parents are required to attend:
1. Con 2 Parent/Sponsor/Teen Session 2. One Adult Faith Formation—Dates vary -you select from list provided at time of registration.
