For students who have received Baptism, Reconciliation and Eucharist and have successfully completed Con 1 and are Juniors (or above) in High School.
The Sacrament Process of Formation and Preparation for Youth Confirmation is a two year journey. This journey is intended for young disciples who have received Baptism, Reconciliation, and Eucharist and are in High School desiring celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Program Overview
This year’s topics of exploration include Baptismal identity, Gifts of the Holy Spirit in Confirmation, exploring the symbols of confirmation, understanding their relationship with Christ through baptism and connection to their church community. Participation in Unity Night, Retreat, Community Building Service and Fellowship hours are required in addition to the weekly faith formation sessions.
Textbook: Chosen (Ascension Press, Publisher).
Confirmation Retreat: These retreats are for our Young Disciples in High School journeying towards the Sacrament of Confirmation. This is a one weekend retreat, facilitated by our CrossTrainers each year of their preparation. Throughout the faith-filled weekend, retreatants explore how they are Chosen and Sent to use their gifts strengthened at Confirmation by the Holy Spirit. They are encouraged to grow in a personal relationship with Christ and Community through opportunities including faith groups, keynote talks, praise and worship, skits, Reconciliation, Eucharistic Adoration, and Mass.
Program Requirements
A transfer letter and birth, baptism, and first communion certificates are required if the child completed the first year of Confirmation preparation (Con 1) at another parish.
This is to ensure your child is enrolled in the proper classes.
Upon celebrating your child's sacrament, the certificates must be printed and officially recorded as to how your child's name is printed on his or her Baptismal Certificate.
Children consistently attentend a minimum number sessions throughout the catechetical year including the Confirmation specific evens.
All students are required to attend a Circle of Grace® course conducted during regular class time.
Parents sign and agree to a Code of Conduct.
Required Parent Meetings
All parents should be attending Mass on a weekly basis. Parents are required to attend:
1. Con 2 Orientation Meeting (with Sponsor & Teen) 2. At least one Adult Faith Formation—Dates vary -you select from list provided at time of registration.
