For students who have received Baptism, Reconciliation and Eucharist and are sophomores (or above) in High School.
Program Overview
First year Confirmation teens (commonly referred to as Con 1) who have received the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, and First Eucharist and who are in 10th grade (or above) in high school begin their first year of confirmation use Ascension Press' "Quick Catholic Lessons 1 with Fr. Mike", for their materials.
Sessions typically begin in October and end in May. Teens experience stewardship by completing Service Projects in their first year of Confirmation Preparation. They select and bond with their sponsor and Confirmation Saint in their first year. They must participate in a weekend retreat experience.
Program Requirements
To enroll parents must provide a copy of the teen’s birth, baptism certificate, and first communion certificates.
This is to ensure your child is enrolled in the proper classes.
Upon celebrating your child's sacrament, the certificates must be printed and officially recorded as to how your child's name is printed on his or her Baptismal Certificate.
Children attend a total of 26 sessions throughout the catechetical year.
To successfully complete the year children may have no more than 5 absences.
Any more than 5 absences and the child will be dropped from the program.
All students are required to attend a Protecting God’s Children® course conducted during regular class time.
Parents along with the teen sign and agree to a Code of Conduct.

Required Parent Meetings
All parents should be attending Mass on a weekly basis. Parents are required to attend:
1. Con 1 Parent Meeting 2. One Adult Faith Formation—Dates vary -you select from list provided at time of registration.

Once a teen receives the Sacrament of Eucharist they may enroll in regular grade level formation the following fall. After successful completion of their first year, Confirmation 2 begins in 11th grade or above as follows:
Confirmation 2—for those students in their Junior year (or above) in High School who will be age 16 by confirmation day. Students are interviewed for readiness prior to being confirmed. Service hours and retreat(s) required. Eligibility to enroll in Con 2 will be determined upon completion of ALL Con 1 requirements.
